About me
Jared Keenan is the Executive Director and Chief Litigation Counsel of the Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest, where he engages in impact litigation focused on government accountability, voting rights, and protecting the civil and constitutional rights of Arizonans. He previously served as Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona where he oversaw the ACLU of Arizona’s litigation docket focusing on criminal legal reform, LGBTQ+ equality, immigrants’ rights, voting rights, and protecting the rights enshrined in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Jared litigates in both state and federal court at both the trial and appellate level. He has argued before the Arizona Supreme Court, the Arizona Court of Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. After graduating from Boston University School of Law, Jared worked as a public defender in Boston, Massachusetts and in Mohave and Yavapai counties in Arizona. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the First Amendment Clinic at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law. Jared previously served on the Board of the Arizona Justice Project, the State Bar of Arizona Batson Reform Working Group, the Arizona Supreme Court Post-Conviction Actions Task Force, and the Arizona Supreme Court’s Fair Justice For All Task Force. He is also a Past-President of Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice (AACJ).
