About me
Sarah Howard is a law school graduate of Capital University Law School. She brings a multidisciplinary background to legal education, informed by prior military service, public service, and hands-on legal practice across criminal, appellate, and child welfare settings. Before entering the legal profession, Ms. Howard served in the U.S. Army National Guard as a Motor Transport Operator, where she operated in high-pressure environments requiring accountability, ethical judgment, and leadership. That foundation continues to shape her professional approach to legal ethics, responsibility, and decision-making. During law school, Ms. Howard was awarded the Roberta Mitchell Award for Excellence in Legal Clinic. She also gained extensive experience with the Franklin County Public Defender Office as a Felony Law Clerk, assisting in case preparation, motion practice, and legal research and writing. She later served as an Appellate Law Clerk, drafting appellate briefs and reviewing trial records and case law, further deepening her understanding of ethical obligations at all stages of representation.Ms. Howard’s professional goal is to continue sharpening her litigation skills and to become a formidable trial attorney and successful public defender, committed to ethical advocacy and high-quality representation.Ms. Howard was selected to second chair the First Degree Murder trial of Daniel Harris.
